If you do not own a dog but would like to join in, there will be spare dogs on the day.  Please keep your dog on a lead.

Class 35: Best Puppy

Class 40: Waggiest Tail

Class 41: Best Six Legs

Class 42: Best in Show and Reserve Best in Show – winning competitors from each class

Domestic Classes

All cookery, cakes, preserves, fruit & vegetables and flowers will be auctioned at the end of the day unless otherwise requested

Childrens’ classes

Class 42: Farm-themed collage by a child aged 6 and under

Class 43: Farm-themed collage by a child aged 7-12 years

Class 44: Drawing ‘My best countryside memory’ by a child aged 6 and under

Class 45: Photograph ‘My best countryside memory’ by a child aged 7-12 years

Class 46: Model ‘Farm themed’ made out of recyclable materials aged 6 and under

Class 47: Model ‘Farm themed’ made out of recyclable materials aged 7-12 years

For all:

Class 48: Classic Victoria sponge (raspberry jan / no cream), 8″ tin.

Class 49: Lemon Drizzle cake

Class 50: 6 blueberry muffins

Class 51: 6 fruity flapjacks (men only)

Class 52: Best displayed 6 eggs from chicken or ducks (The eggs will, of course, be judged on the quality but how they are displayed will also be judged).

Preserves

Class 53: Pot of lemon curd (to be in a small bottle and clearly labelled).

Class 54: Pot of marmelade

Class 55: Pot of simple fruit jam

Class 56: Pot of chutney

Class 57: Small bottle of homemade liquer

Fruit and Vegetables:

Class 58: 5 potatoes

Class 59: 5 carrots

Class 60: 5 onions

Class 61: 5 beetroot

Class 62: 5 runner beans

Class 63: A marrow

Class 64: 5 cooking apples

Class 65: 5 dessert apples

Class 66: 5 pears

Flowers and Plants

Class 68: Specimen rose

Class 69: Pot plant for flowers

Class 70: Pot plant for foliage

Class 71: Mixed autumn flowers & berries and foliage arranged in a container

Class 72: An arrangement of flowers and/or foliage suitable for a dinner party table

Awards For Long Service

Award winners can compete only once in any class & date of commencement of service to be stated on entry form.  Entries Close 17th September 2017 and there is no entry fee.

All awards will be presented at the Ploughing Match

Class 51: For the Agricultural worker with up to 20 years continuous service but exceeding 10 years service upon the same farm or with the same employer (or widow, or son or daughter or same). Employer to be a member farming within the limits of the Association. 3 Prizes of £25 will be awarded

Class 52: For the Agricultural worker with up to 30 years continuous service but exceeding 20 years service upon the same farm or with the same employer (or widow, or son or daughter or same). Employer to be a member farming within the limits of the Association. 3 Prizes of £30 will be awarded

Class 53: For the Agricultural worker with 30 years or over continuous service upon the same farm or with the same employer (or widow, or son or daughter or same). Employer to be a member farming within the limits of the Association. 3 Prizes of £35 will be awarded

Class 54: For the Agricultural worker with 40 years or over continuous service upon the same farm or with the same employer (or widow, or son or daughter or same). Employer to be a member farming within the limits of the Association. 3 Prizes of £40 will be awarded

An additional Special Prize of £50 to an employee who has worked continuously on the same farm or with the same employer (or widow, or son or daughter of same) for 50 years and over. Employer to be a member farming within the limits of the Association.
